Vicarii Productions is the independent production house of Australian writer, producer and filmmaker Lyn Vickery.

Its purpose is simple: to find compelling human stories, research them honestly and bring them to the screen with imagination, dignity and heart.

Across film, television and documentary development, Lyn has created or co-created concepts, series bibles, screenplays, episode outlines and principal characters for an extensive slate of projects. Vicarii Productions brings that experience together under one roof—and provides a home for the many productions still waiting in the wings.

Today’s technology allows the faces, places and experiences of earlier generations to be seen with new clarity. Used carefully, it can help audiences connect with history not as a list of distant dates, but as the lived experience of real people.

Vicarii combines archival material, family photographs, personal records, original narration and contemporary production methods to tell those stories without losing sight of the truth at their centre.

The first stories carried forward

Tales of Our Forefathers is Vicarii Productions’ four-part family-history documentary series. Drawn largely from family albums, storage boxes and surviving records, it follows one family through British India, Imperial China, two World Wars and the building of modern Australia.

The people at its heart were not famous and did not write history books. Yet, like thousands of others, their lives are what history is truly made of. The series is the beginning—not the limit—of what Vicarii Productions intends to bring to audiences.
